Accessibility

The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and assisting students in developing to their greatest potential. All students, regardless of special talents or challenging needs, can grow - and they grow best by attending schools that offer accessible programs, services and environments.

The RCDSB is continually improving access to school board facilities, policies, programs, practices, and services for students, staff, parent/guardians, volunteers, and members of the community.

Our Accessibility Working Group consults with people with disabilities and community agencies to develop and review an annual accessibility plan (PDF). The annual plan describes the achievements and measures that the RCDSB has taken to implement its accessibility plan, and measures to identify, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities, subject to the availability of resources.

The annual accessibility plan (PDF) is in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), which requires each school board to prepare an annual accessibility plan; consult with people with disabilities in the preparation of this plan; and make the plan public.
