About Our District
The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) is in the northeastern region of Ontario. Our district follows the Ottawa River on the east and borders Algonquin Park to the southwest. Our southern most schools are in Arnprior and our northern-most school is in Deep River. We have seven secondary schools and 23 elementary schools. In addition, we have adult high schools and Programs for Alternative Learning (PAL) in Arnprior, Renfrew, Pembroke and Barry's Bay.
Putting children first is our number one priority. That’s why our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan is so important.
It presents the three Guiding Principles that help the RCDSB accomplish its Vision and Mission and remain true to its Values. The Plan acts as a roadmap to guide the Board to respond to the needs of students today and tomorrow.
Informed by staff, partners, and students, the Guiding Principles reflect our Board’s vision of education in Renfrew County. We seek to be a community of learners where curiosity, creativity, imagination and innovation are celebrated and where students are engaged to explore and discover their own pathways to success.
Our staff is committed, passionate and focused on doing their part to create the conditions that will ensure our students are healthy, happy and successful in their personal and professional pursuits
Guiding Principles
The RCDSB's three Guiding Principles are:
- Excellence in Teaching and Learning
- Safe, Caring, Inclusive and Respectful Learning Environments
- Wise Use of Resources
